Jess Watkin

Panelist: Facing Backlash

Dr. Jess Watkin (she/her) finished her PhD at the University of Toronto’s Centre for Drama, Theatre, and Performance Studies with research focusing on Disability Dramaturgy and social justice performance. She is a Blind artist-scholar working in Toronto, the 2024-25 Nightswimming Metcalf intern in Dramaturgy and Production, and is actively dramaturging many shows across Canada. Jess is currently a Leadership Development Facilitator at AccessNow for FUTURES–community building and social impact program for Disabled youth. She is an educator, facilitator, and accessibility consultant.
