Melissa Poll
Shaking Up Shakespeare Interviewee
Melissa Poll is an equity and inclusion dramaturge and settler scholar who currently occupies territory that has historically been home to many Indigenous nations, including the Kaw, Osage, and Pawnee, among others. Her research on the politics of representation in theatre has been published in Body, Space & Technology, Canadian Theatre Review, Theatre Research in Canada, and Contemporary Theatre Review. With Jenn Cole, she is the co-editor of Performance Matters 7.2, “Performing (in) Place: Moving on/with the Land,” and the forthcoming Performance Matters 10.2, “Performing (in) Place: Space, Relation, Action.” Melissa is also the author of Robert Lepage’s Scenographic Dramaturgy: The Aesthetic Signature at Work (Palgrave Macmillan, 2018).
