Nassim Abu Sarari, a Palestinian-born and raised individual, is a versatile creative actively involved in writing, translation, research, and the world of theatre. Currently a graduate student in the Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies program at York University pursuing an MA, Nassim seamlessly transitions between the roles of scholar, theatre practitioner, performance artist, and DJ. Nassim’s interest revolves around the exploration of the diverse expressions of ‘Black’ global culture, with a special attention to the SWANA (Southwest Asia and North Africa) and East African regions. Nassim’s intellectual pursuits span a spectrum of artistic forms, including literature, art, music, poetry, theatre, and dance, interwoven with academic interests in history, philosophy, social justice, culture, performance, Oriental, and African studies.
